Homestead Community Farm
Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts
Homestead Community Farm is being developed by a group of people in the Pioneer Valley of Western Massachusetts who are working to create an integrated and inter-generational farmstead where individuals with and without intellectual challenges can live, work, and/or socialize together.
They seek to establish a community that can provide both physical and spiritual nourishment for its members. Through growing their own vegetables and raising their own animals, they can provide food for their members. Through working with intention they can create a community that supports its members and provide individuals who might struggle to find employment elsewhere with the opportunity to do meaningful and productive work. Their immediate goals are to first find land in the Pioneer Valley, then form partnerships with the surrounding agricultural community that will allow them to cultivate the land, and finally to create housing for the members of the farmstead community.
