New Way to Help: Tax-Deductible Contributions Can Support Projects in Copake

Crops in Copake fieldFriends of the Copake Agricultural Center and Northeast Farm Access can now support specialized farmer education, agro-ecology and sustainable-farming research through tax-deductible contributions.

Distinct from equity investments, NEFA has arranged with Hawthorne Valley Association to serve as fiscal sponsor, and accept tax-deductible contributions to support upcoming NEFA projects. NEFA secured a $12,000 contribution for this work in 2015, and needs to match it reach our goals….

Alice Belt Land Closes; Conservation Easements Secured for Entire Copake Project

Copake_map_July_2014On December 17th, Farmland Renewal, LLC, completed acquisition of the final parcel planned for the Copake Agricultural Center in Copake, New York, and secured conservation in perpetuity of the Center’s approximately 180 total acres. The announcement from Bob Bernstein, Managing Director of NEFA, capped a successful first year for the Copake project, where three farm entities broke ground in early 2014….
